One of Southern California’s leading petroleum (lubricant and fuel) distributors. The entrepreneurially managed enterprise has achieved a compound annual growth rate of 20+% over the past 5 years and exceeded $380 million in 2022 total revenue. It is recognized by one of the TOP Oil Companies as its leading lubricant distributor in Southern California as one of its most successful distributors nationwide, and one of Southern California’s largest distributors of unbranded fuel to the commercial market. The company is a premium service provider focusing on high value niches in its markets.

We are currently seeking a Vice President of Sales to lead and develop its sales organization. The optimal candidate will have a track record of building high-performance sales organizations. This individual will be dually tasked with achieving sales goals while developing the company’s sales management and selling capabilities for the next step function of company growth. This role will report directly to the Division General Manager and will be a core member of the company’s executive team and will directly impact the company’s strategy and overall success.

The current sales organization consists of a Vice President of Business Development, 3 sales managers, 15 sales representatives, 12 customer service representatives, 1 sales analyst and a sales administrator.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Functional

· Achieve or exceed sales goals for the company’s fuel and lubricant distribution business

· Co-lead the definition of the company’s sales and go to market strategies including key input on the portfolio of brand/product offerings

· Build and implement an enhanced sales management capability focused on goals, analytics, pipeline management, tools and reporting

· Build and implement and enhanced selling capability in areas including planning (rep/territory), sales process, offer definition, activity expectations, training/education and supporting tools

· Integrate and enhance new customer relationship management software tool into sales management/pipeline management capability

· Develop sales campaigns and accompanying offers in alignment with sales goals and supplier programs

Corporate

· Serve as a core member of the company’s executive team with input on key strategies, initiatives and tactics

· Contribute in the development and management of annual business plans and projections

· Drive coordination with cross-functional leaders to achieve operational efficiency and effectiveness

Requirements

· 15+ years of increasing responsibility in sales organizations of successful companies

· 5+ years as a senior executive building a high-performance sales team

· Commitment to the value of professional sales management including pipeline management, sales analytics, reporting, tools and training

· Strong analytic and data management skills

· Strong leadership, motivational and interpersonal skills

· Proven ability to create change – design strategy, develop implementation, execute plans and measure results

· Self-starter with strong motivation and initiative; This person thrives in an entrepreneurial and achievement oriented environment

· Petroleum or energy sector experience a plus

Compensation

· Salary commensurate with experience

· Participation in company profit sharing plan

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $150,000.00 - $225,000.00 per year
